Real Estate CPD Courses

NSW Fair Trading compulsory CPD for property professionals — built for the new 2026–27 requirements, including the AML/CTF obligations that apply to real estate from 1 July 2026.
New Requirements for 2026–27
AWS Institute is introducing its 2026–27 property CPD program in response to the latest NSW Fair Trading changes announced in July. The CPD year runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, and this year brings the biggest compliance shift the industry has seen: from 1 July 2026, real estate professionals become AML/CTF reporting entities under the Commonwealth “Tranche 2” reforms.
From 1 July 2026, agents and agencies must enrol with AUSTRAC, run an AML/CTF program, complete customer due diligence (KYC) and report suspicious matters. Every AWS Institute 7-hour package embeds Supervision Guidelines and AML/CTF content delivered with an AML/CTF specialist. (Strata and On-site packages cover their own compulsory topics.)
Compulsory topics are set per area of practice — residential sales, buyers agency, commercial, strata and more. If you work across several areas you may need training for each, but a shared topic only needs to be completed once.
No self-paced online study. Compulsory topics must be completed live — as an interactive webinar (max 25 attendees) or face-to-face (max 40). All AWS Institute sessions meet these caps, with attendance and participation verified.
Class 1 agents must also attend a NSW Fair Trading accredited event (min. 5 hours) and, in relevant areas of practice, complete AUSTRAC’s real estate AML/CTF training. These are separate to the compulsory topic packages on this page.
Licensees in Charge must also prepare and maintain a training plan for agents under their supervision. Residential Property Management CPD will be scheduled once NSW Fair Trading finalises the 2026–27 requirements.
